Removable Retainers (Clear or Wire)
These retainers are worn at night or for part of the day. There are two main styles:
- Clear Plastic Retainers (Essix-style): Thin, nearly invisible, and custom-molded to fit snugly over your teeth.
- Hawley Retainers: Durable acrylic-and-wire retainers that can be adjusted over time.
Fixed (Bonded) Retainers
Fixed retainers (also known as wires) are attached to the back of the front teeth with dental adhesive.
